I've tried using a 32bit version of wine even going so far as to compile my own wine-git version. I tried just about every winetrick that looked even remotely related. I originally installed under Linux Mint standard wine. I don't know if I somehow invoked a system type response or if this was coming from the game. ![]() One thing that seems anomalous is that one time as I was just poking at my keyboard trying to find any reaction, a chat box style window opened and I could type into it. ![]() I seem to recall that in the distant past, I had a disk version that initially had this problem but somehow it was solved. 'Oblivion' and 'Knights and Merchants (GOG.com)' work perfectly. There is no other way of adjusting elevation. Specifically, the shift key is needed to adjust elevation. Most things can be done with a mouse but keyboard input is required sometimes when placing game pieces in the map. RCT does not play the background music (no biggy) and it does not respond to the keyboard (semi-gamebreaker). It runs and there are only two problems but one of them is a game breaker. I have jumped through just about every hoop there is to get this going under wine. I have a few more, but this is enough for now.RCT stands for Rollercoaster Tycoon. Charge people about 20 cents below the excitement rating for a ride. Just put a good mix of everything (look at the special pieces to see what's available into a coaster and it's quite easy to have a high excitement rating.ĥ. The only way to make a good coaster in a tight spot (either physically or financially) is to make it yourself. You can demolish pieces that don't work and earn the full amount back. Don't be afraid to make your own designs beforehand, either. This game is much easier than the previous ones in that you start out with a good number of coaster types on each level (at least so far). Pathmaking is dangerous, so be sure to save before you're going to do any complex (up/down etc) path.Ĥ. Complex pathmaking is a HUGE pain in the butt to do in this game, and if you make one mistake you get back like 10 bucks when you delete the path, as opposed to the 50+ dollars you spent making that piece. This game is really easy (at least it has been so far) once you learn to abuse the fact that how in debt you are means almost nothing, unless the rides you built with the money are really crappy.ģ. Leave about 1k lying around, and just recuperate with ride entrance fees (put the game into fast forward, play PS3 or something, etc.). Just don't spend them all at once or you won't have enough to pay your wages and upkeep. Would not advise demolishing anything but smaller pieces that get in your way.Ģ. The scenery is good enough to actually get awards and attract visitors. It's a bit different for this water level I did just now, though. For instance, when I did the movie level, I just utterly demolished the heck out of that warehouse area near the entrance, and no one gave a crap at all. Don't be TOO worried about demolishing park scenery unless it's really that good. Don't assign paths where you have absolutely no rides to janitors. And when I say divide up I mean put them into sections where they'll be useful. ![]() ![]() Also, if you get more than one, be very sure to gradually divide the park up between them. Then, you don't have to raise their wages or ever really worry about them again. Honestly, it's cheaper (long run) to simply get one or two mechanics and janitors and then train them all up to max right away any more that you need, do the same with them.
